Yogi2Me – NEW app that delivers hand picked Yoga teachers, straight to your front door!

{London Zone 1 & 2}

I first came across Yogi2Me at a recent charity event they hosted, in Chelsea. After an amazing b2b class with two of their talented Yoga Instructors, I found myself thinking (…yet again) ‘That felt awesome, I really must do this more often’ – I think this pretty much every time yoga and I have crossed paths, yet some how I allow myself to get distracted and sucked back into the high speed train of life before I actually manage to action this rather ingenious brain wave!

Sure, we are very lucky in London with a plethora of studios offering classes all over the city to pick from… but if you are anything like me, you probably bombing through life like Speedy Gonzales, with the first available free slot circa 2047! Let’s be honest – even though we know we really should… it isn’t always easy to find time to take care of ourselves, grab a much needed breather and essentially recalibrate ourselves back to full warrior mode!

Ahem…. Enter Yogi2Me…

What they say:

“Yogi2Me is the first start-up in the wellness technology industry that is solely focused on providing you with top quality yoga teachers to guide your yoga practice.” – Yogi2Me

“This brilliant app provides high-quality yoga teachers straight to your door. Choose from Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin or Pregnancy options, with world-class private lessons in your London home, office or hotel room.” – Town & Country Magazine

 The Down-low:

With the mission of co-ordinating class time tables with my ever changing schedule eliminated… (my stumbling block – to date!) I downloaded the Yogi2Me app while at the event that evening and subsequently booked my very first private yoga class.

First off, I was pleasantly surprised by how user friendly and easy the booking process was through the app. Trust me, I’ve tried and tested more fitness apps that you can shake a stick at – most of them luring me in with their chic designer faces, so full of promise but too often disappointed with the incomplete, overly complicated or just poorly thought out product laying behind. The Yogi2me app has a clean looking and straight forward UI (user interface) which guides you through selecting a style of yoga, teacher choice and time/location to suit you – in just a few clicks!

One of my favourite parts of the process was the short video clips of each teacher, which I found incredibly useful when making my decision on which teacher to book. The brains behind Yogi2Me clearly understand that a great deal of trust is involved when inviting a stranger to your home/office etc. and having this transparency available was a nice personal touch. Not only did I want an experienced Yogi to show me the ropes, it was also important for me to find someone who’s energy and personality would be a good fit for me. After a quick peruse, I went ahead a booked a 60 minute Hatha Yoga lesson with Shay Grant. Confident I’d made an informed choice, I was feeling excited for the class rather than anticipating her arrival and wondering what she might be like. As I opened my front door, I was greeted with her big warm smile (p.s. she was just as I expected – easy going, free spirited and full of energy!) With no need for awkward chit chat, we dived straight in – Win!

Shay brought along a gorgeous cork yoga mat for me to practice on (perfect, since I do not own one but equally useful for anyone booking a class at their office or even at the park!) After a quick run through of what I’d like to achieve from the class and discussing an old injury (she had already picked this up from the notes which I forgot I had left during the booking process!)

By the end of the 60 minutes (which flew by) Shay had taken me through a varied Hatha yoga flow, progressing my technique by challenging my body a little more each time while under her expertly safe hands. I had such a encouraging session with Shay as she really understood my motivations and I was left feeling accomplished and refreshed!

Admittedly this may be the first time I’ve actually followed through with my threat of engaging in Yoga practice but after this super positive experience, with an army of talented London Yogi’s at my fingertips – I’m pretty sure it wont be the last!

We have a fabulous offering of yoga classes in London and Yogi2Me certainly does not claim to be a replacement, rather an additional hub making quality yoga even more accessible. Whether it is to compliment existing yoga practice or as a gentle way to introduce yoga for those wanting to start but put off by the daunting prospect of walking into their first ever class, surrounded by seasoned yogis.

So, although group bookings are available through the app – for me the real value is in the 1-2-1 private sessions. Having the undivided attention and guidance from your own hand picked Yogi means that you can get the most out of your bespoke session. Learning in a style and at a pace you are comfortable with, in a setting you have chosen and focussing fully on your own goals, be it general wellbeing to specific areas of yoga practice.

Yogi2Me could be a real game changer for the busy bees of London, who now won’t have to miss out on a quality yoga session just because life doesn’t always want to play ball with class time tables at your favourite studio across town!
